Time with Family

This Christmas was our first Christmas has a married couple. It was so nice being able to spend the day with my best friend and husband. Sid woke up before me and had to wrap my presents because he had no time to do so before. I got up around 9:45, got dressed and ready. Mindy, Jeremy and Macy Grace came over around 10:00 when we all opened presents. We all got some really great gifts....So thanks to everyone who bought us something!
Today(Friday) Sid and I headed to Wichita to spend it with my mom's side of the family and it was nice to see some of the cousins that we haven't seen in a while. It seems so unreal to me that we are all growing up and oh so fast. The oldest grandkid just turned 29 and the youngest is 5 and now there is a great grandkid who is 3 months old and is absolutely adorable.
Over all the Christmas holiday was wonderful and I've really had a great time. I hope and pray that everyone else had a wonderful Christmas as well!

Christmas Party and Randomness

Last night was our work Christmas party and it was a lot of fun. The food was great...it was from Outback, there was steak, chicken, shrimp, mashed potatoes and broccoli. All very good. We played a couple games and just really had a wonderful time!

Well Christmas is in 2 days! Wow, can you believe that? Its crazy how time just flies by. Still not sure if we'll make it to Liberal for Christmas day and I'm still very sad about that! :(

Liz is coming in tonight and that will be fun, I can't wait to see her. She's not only my sister but my best friend and I miss hanging with her. Maybe we'll go out to dinner and split something like old times and then go look at some christmas lights. I think that would be lots of fun!

Well if I don't post anything between now and christmas I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Be safe and enjoy your time with the family and friends!

Lazy Weekend

every now and then I have no desire to do anything and this weekend was it. I slept in on Saturday and then just laid around watching TV and movies until 3:30 when I decided I should get up and go out Christmas shopping. I got everything done except for my mom and she's hard to buy for this year.
A good friend of mine, Trisha called me and gave me the wonderful news that she's expecting! I'm so happy for her. I now have two friends expecting this summer!!! Can't wait to meet the new bundles of joy!

Oh and please pray for us that we'll be able to go to Liberal and spend Christmas with my husband's family. As of right now we're not sure if we'll make it! :(

Christmas...

So Christmas is just around the corner and our plans might have just been changed. We are supposed to go to Liberal on Christmas Eve and spend Christmas with Sid's family and then get up Friday morning and go to Wichita to spend Christmas with my mom's side of the family. This morning I was informed that my husband doesn't know if he'll get off until really late Christmas eve. I wasn't looking forward to all the traveling but I was looking foward to spending the Holiday with both families. So hopefully all will work out just the way it was entended.

Busy Day

One busy day!  Today I hosted a house warming party and it went well.  I made an over abundance of food but thats ok, its better to have too much and not enough.  Renee made a really good cider!  I liked it a lot and I don't drink cider!
We went downtown to see Christmas lights but they weren't great at all but we had fun and thats all that matters.  It wasn't too terribly cold so that was nice!  Well I'm off to bed or atleast I'm going to try!

5 months

Sid and I have been married for 5 months today! I can't believe it and honestly don't know where the time as even gone. When I think about it, it feels like we just got married yesterday and not 5 months ago. I love him more than words can express! He's my best friend and the one I know I can ALWAYS go to with anything and everything!

Puppy Happy..

So I want a puppy and have wanted one for some time now. I really want a little yorkie or a silky terrier which is kinda similar to the yorkies. I keep mentioning it to my dear hubby but every time he says no. So I look in the paper and online by myself but last night was a different story and we looked at some online TOGETHER. It was so much fun and exciting! I still don't think I'm going to be getting a puppy anytime soon by any means but we took a step closer and thats a good thing. I want a little girl puppy!!!!!

Christmas Shopping...

Yikes! I have so much to do with little time left and little to no money to spend. I figured by now I'd have the majority of my shopping done but I don't. I think I've bought 3 gifts in total so far. I'm just at a loss of what to get anyone. This year I'd have to say is the hardest...normally I know exactly what I want to get everyone and all I have to do is get it but nope not this year. I've thought about being creative and making something for everyone nothing corney mind you but none the less. I've started a few things but haven't gotten far at either of them. Oy, what will I do? Time is running out so if I don't get on top of things soon and I do mean soon then I just might be in trouble! Wish me luck!

Brr Its Cold Outside

there must be winter in the air! It amazes me how one day it can be nice weather and the temps are in the mid 60's then the very next day its in the 30's with the temp dropping as I write this. The wind is crazy and that definetely doesn't help at all. I want to go home put sweats on crawl up next to the fire with a nice big cup of my favorite coffee (White Chocolate Mocha) and read a book then take a nap, but then I realize I must snap back to reality. I have to work and bring my share to the table at least for now while Sid is going to school.

Wkend Recap

Wow...today has been a crazy one and its not even over. The phones at work are just ringing off the hook thanks to placing several ads in the paper re: CSR/Appt. Clerks. Pure Craziness!

Its finally slowing down and therefore I thought I'd stop in and say a few things. This weekend was wonderful. Had a nice and relaxing Saturday. Sid and I bought our very first ornament together and that was fun. Will take a picture of it and post it soon. Then we had Michael and Camille over for dinner and to watch OU kick some Missouri butt! Hehe. All in all it was a wonderful Saturday. Then Sunday we got up and actually made it to Sunday School and all ON TIME! I think that was like the first. LOL, we are terrible at getting to SS on time. I know I know, thats aweful of us and honestly I don't know why.

Random Thoughts all in One!

So my friend did great last night on giving her testimony!!

I just want to say sorry in advance this post is probably going to be so random. Last night was Grey's Anatomy nite! It was good I really liked it but there were a few things or people I could do without. So for starters...this new Dr. I don't like here. She's weird and like expressionless. Its not a good fit in my opinion, I'd rather have Dr. Haan back...so hopefully they won't keep this weird, expressionless Dr on board. Now to another thing...I really don't like how they are writing Callie's story line. She's so pretty and a girly girl...why oh why do they have to write her character as being a lesbo?? I strongly dislike it!!!
And to my last and final thing re: Greys...I like McSteamy for some odd and strange way. When the series began I didn't but I've warmed up to him and in all reality I believe there is more to him a softer side, a side that longs for something so much more meaningful. I think when it comes down to it he really is and can be a a great guy!

My dear friend came over to the apartment last night and we had a great time of fellowship. I shouldn't be speaking for her but I know her and I know she feels the same. LOL Its been so long since we had actually just sat down the two of us and talked about everything from one spectrum to another. Thanks Reba...love u!

So of course last night was another long work nite for the hubby but thankfully not as late as the days before. He was home by 11 and that was great!

Please say a prayer...

for a friend of mine. Tonight at helpmeets (ladies) meeting, she will be giving her testimony. So just pray that God will calm her nerves and use her testimony to be a blessing to others.

My Hubby...

is so sweet and I love him. The other day he was eating skittles and I kept telling him to save me the purples ones (their my fav). Anywhoo I didn't think much of it cuz he'd give me one or two here and there...well yesterday I was going through my purse and I saw the skittles bag and just thought it was trash. I took it out and to my surprise there were a bunch of purple skittles! Its such a small thing but to me its big. I don't need anything fancy although those are nice :) but its the small things that mean the most to me!

Home Alone

So last night I had to spend the evening alone and even went to bed alone. No my husband and I aren't having a dispute! LOL He just had to work late, really late. He didn't get home until after 12:30AM. You see he works at the Hobby Lobby Distribution center and I guess with Christmas right around the corner there was a lot to be done. For me it was a very long night home alone, when on the average he is home no later than 8:30 where we can eat dinner and just spend some quality time together. I tried oh so hard to stay awake so I could see him and talk to him but with no prevail I was out like a light by 10:30. Oh but let me tell you I tossed and turned until he came home and crawled into bed next to me. He's my rock and my comfort and when he's not in bed next to me well its as if I didn't sleep at all. How did I sleep before we got married? I don't know the answer to that but I never and will never go back. So with that I love you baby!

Can you hear God Speak?

I just had to share this story with ya'll. A friend emailed this to me and its oh so true. Take some time to just read this and really think.

A young man had been to Wednesday Night BibleStudy. The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord'svoiceThe young man couldn't help but wonder, 'Does God still speak to people?'After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message.Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways.It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, 'God...If you still speak t o people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.'As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, 'God is that you?' He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. 'Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk.' It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh Street , he again felt the urge, 'Turn Down that street.'This is crazy he thought, and drove on past the intersection.Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street .At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud,'Okay, God, I will.'He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi- commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, 'Go and give t he milk to the people in the house across the street.' The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.'Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up,they are going to be mad and I will look stupid..' Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, 'Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something, but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here.'He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelledout, 'Who is it? What do you want?' Then the door opened before theyoung man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. 'What is it?'The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, 'Here, I brought this to you.' The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward thekitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, 'We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how toget some milk.'His wife in the kitchen yelled out, 'I ask him to send an Angel withsome. Are you an Angel?'The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face.He knew that God still answers prayers.

This is so true. Sometimes it's the simplest things that God asks us todo that cause us, if we are obedient to what He's asking, to be able to hear. His voice more clear than ever. Please listen, and obey ! It willbless you (and the world). Phil 4:13

Looking back or forward...

As we approach this wonderful Christmas season I tend to look back on all the ones I've enjoyed in times past and how things have changed.
This year is my first Christmas as a wife! How different it is but in a good way. I look forward to waking up on Christmas morning next to my husband and being able to roll over and snuggle up with him. I look forward to getting up and opening the presents and seeing the look on his face when he see's that I got him something he wanted. I look forward to spending it not only with his family but mine as well. This Christmas is going to be much different then ones from the past, showing that times have changed, but I'm so thankful God allows us to grow and change and not stay the same.
